Pour Out 2025 – River of Life

2025 Anchor scripture:

“And the Spirit and the bride say, 'Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.”

Revelation 17:22 NKJV

“The Spirit and the bride say, 'Come.” Let anyone who hears this say, “Come.” Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life.”

Revelation 17:22 NLT

River of Life

In what is fondly described as the last vision of scripture, Jesus extended a profound reminder and command to believers. While His physical and visible presence was no longer, our dependence on Him and work in us was only beginning. That is why every believer must know that Jesus’ existence is wholly tied to our livelihood (John 10:10b and 14:6).

There are very few constant elements, such as air and fire, but one that is almost impossible to ever run out of is water. The metaphoric illustration here showcases that it is not only life that flows like that of a river, but it can be endless and comes without charge. Many times in scripture, Christ made various remarks that helped to embody Himself as the source/stream for believers to go to.

Revelation 22:17 was no different. Like in a desert, where there is often dryness and the body usually yearns to quench its thirst, we turn to water in desperation. In the same vein, our walk with God is in constant need of refreshing and overflowing, and so, we must turn to God. It is good to regularly seek a deeper understanding of the things of God—not just skimming their surface, but exploring their depths as far as we can. We should keep digging and diving into the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, desiring to know them intimately. SO…

1. 2. Be thirsty for Him. Thirsty, in this context, refers to the work of transformation and infilling for any believer. It is a journey/process that makes you become more like Christ and purifies you of everything that could hinder that. There is a newness that filters out what is not of God. “In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.” John 7:37 KJV

Receive life and be fruitful – Nothing in the kingdom of God grows without sound foundations. To receive life means to surrender to the will of God and to His

direction. Hence, the more we converse with the Word of God, the better furnished we are for every good gift He has planted by the grace of God. “They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.” Psalms 1:3 NLT.

The River of Life is like the channel which makes us grow and blossom as believers. Trees rarely ever stop growing but also do not grow in one day but what s[mulates growth is good roots. In the same vein when we as vessels plant ourselves in God, there is exponen[al growth that cannot be hindered by any man.
